HOW I GOT HERE: After the economic collapse of the early 2000s, my world turned upside down. Suddenly, I was left without a job and a baby on the way. To add to the stress, my husband and I found ourselves at odds over how to manage our money.
Deep down, I knew I had to focus on creating financial stability and wealth creation. I was determined to improve my financial situation. I took a finance class, read every book and article that I could find, and quickly learned the key to mastering my finances was a solid understanding of why I had the money habits I did.
Before long, I launched Money Smart Mamas, a women’s financial group where I shared my journey with others. I became a certified finance counselor and developed the Magical Budget Binder to help with organization, a key component of growing wealth. In my book, Permission To Spend, I teach this system in detail, showing readers how to overcome their own money roadblocks.
As an independent financial advisor with Five Rings Financial, I work with clients to help them plan and invest in their futures.
